Clarity

Today, I felt a little demotivated by an email.

I really shouldn’t have been reading my email at the start of my day, but an emergency call in the morning meant I had to go into my email to connect with a possible solution.

That solution search meant I was also exposed to reading emails, before I had shaped my day. It took me quite a while to shake off the urge to react with anger, and ultimately choose that the best response was not to react at all.

In life, you ultimately learn that you have to deal with a healthy dose of crap if you are to make any progress.

Morgan Housel put it succinctly when he wrote, “If you recognize that BS is ubiquitous, then the question is not “How can I avoid all of it?” but, “What is the optimal amount to put up with so I can still function in a messy and imperfect world?””

I am thankful for the clarity that time brings to my journey.
