Variety

Today, I finally figured out why I do not enjoy food as much as I used to as a child.

My variety of meals has shrunk significantly. The shrinking is more out of choice than availability.

As I gained control over my food choices, I unwittingly started limiting variety. I started choosing only what I enjoyed, and as I got bored with my choices, I hastily generalised that food is just not enjoyable anymore.

I challenged this bias today, by ordering something I have not had in forever. I am still smiling from how tasty the meal was.

I am thankful for the varieties of life.
