Luke 11:27-28
As he said this, a woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to him, “Blessed is the womb that bore you, and the breasts that you sucked!”
But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!”
Homily:
Jesus’ response is an all-encompassing invitation.
It excludes no one from God’s blessings.
It includes who the woman was referring to.
It offers a promise on 2 conditions – hear God’s word and keep it. Put simpler – Obey God’s word.
Blessings follow obedience. Don’t just read His word and make it a cerebral activity. Let His word lead your actions.
