Stubbornness

Stubbornness is a feature in youth.

Youth requires an irrational belief in something, in spite of otherwise counsel, if they are to effect change and improve the world.

They also have enough runway to recover from setbacks.

Stubbornness is a bug in the aged.

The aged cannot afford irrational beliefs because their life depends on deep consideration. They have seen enough to know nothing is certain. They have gotten a lot more things wrong than right.

There is no use holding on to anything when everything will soon be taken.
