Patience

Patience is the easier rational choice for the onlooker.
Action is the easier rational choice for the participant.

Patience is not easy to exercise because waiting is draining and acting is energising—however fleeting that energy may be.
Moments that demand patience also require a concomitant draining.
Draining of all that is toxic, making room for renewal.

Unfortunately, toxicity energizes, albeit in a self-destructive way.
Like poison, it offers a burst of energy before a fatal blow.

In moments that require patience, embrace the draining feeling.
Like letting out pus, it creates space for healing.

Patience only seems easy when you don’t have to exercise it.
Be kind as an onlooker to those struggling with it.
