The Mark of the King

All crowns leave a mark on the head.

The longer the crown stays on, the deeper the imprint.

To cover the mark, some kings are never seen without the crown. But this only turns the mark into a scar.

To avoid the mark, some kings rule without a crown. But every other insignia they choose also leaves a mark.

Every mark on a human is a symbol of their station in life.

The mark on the head of the king is the only crown that persists.
