Some years ago, my cousin came to me, fuming. When I inquired about the reason for his fury, he said, “My friend stole my idea and is building the app I was planning to work on.”
I told him a fact I have found to be true: It is not the best idea that wins, but the best executor.
Ideas flirt with many but stay with the disciplined executor.
I advised him to go ahead with the execution. He preferred to dwell on the betrayal.
Today, neither my cousin nor his friend built that app. Their friendship is over, and neither is better for it.
It was a fantastic idea, but it was not meant for either of them.
I just used an app built on the idea, and I smiled. It found a home with another.
