There is a healthy amount of detachment required toward things you care about.
A simple way to tell when you have tipped over with care is your level of suffering.
When the thing you care about makes you suffer, it is a signal to step back a little.
If you don’t understand the signal, that suffering will become regret.
If you understand the signal, that suffering will become a lesson.
