There are many joys in life.
One of them is seeing someone experience something for the first time and go all in.
I had that experience with my seatmate on a plane a few days ago. The excitement made me realize again how amazing a flight really is, even though it now seems normal.
This is also the gift that having children brings. I remember the first time my daughter said “yummy” while munching on a meal; the food immediately tasted better.
I now understand why many coaches earn little yet stick to their craft. There’s a joy that cannot be paid for in seeing people experience something for the first time and go all in.
So here’s a challenge: at least once a quarter, try something for the first time, or help someone else do it, and go all in.
