Amen

Today, I start this blog on Meditations – A daily homily on the readings I wake up to.

Today is Day 1. Walk with me.

Numbers 6:24 – 26
The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you; The Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace.

Homily:

We start this journey with Amen, we will end it with Thank you.

Single-player game

We all pay attention. That is an attribute of living things. But what we pay attention to and for how long, shapes our reality.

About 40 years ago, we sent 12 astronauts on six different missions to the surface of the moon, 400,000 kilometres away. Ten years prior, in 1960, two aquanauts dove 11 kilometres below the surface in a submarine, to the deepest part of the ocean in the Marianas Trench. In the 50 years since, not one person has been that deep, only two unmanned remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) – Jonathan Thar.

It is not surprising that we pay more attention to exploring space than exploring our oceans. Humans have always sought what is without, beyond what is within. Fundamentally, truth is within.

This year, I will be paying attention to my inner scorecards.

I will master the single-player game.
