This is a very difficult question.
In our relationships, our diets, our finances, our lives – How much is enough?
This question is not helped by the fact that all those around us (including us), try to present our best selves, making comparison to continually move the line of enough.
But surely, there must be something like enough.
An old Irish proverb says:
“Leave the table hungry,
Leave the bed sleepy,
Leave the bar thirsty.”
Is enough a point before full? Is full, the waste after enough? I do not know, yet.
But in my life, I have found use for the old Irish proverb and for now, it serves me when I think of enough.
Having room for more, yet consciously choosing to walk away, heightens my experience. Maybe this is enough.
