Your fruit

Luke 6:43-45
“For no good tree bears bad fruit, nor again does a bad tree bear good fruit; for each tree is known by its own fruit. For figs are not gathered from thorns, nor are grapes picked from a bramble bush.
The good man out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil man out of his evil treasure produces evil; for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

Homily:
“Each tree is known by its own fruit.”

What do you produce?
What do you create?
What do you bring forth?

Are you blaming the choices, chances and circumstances available?

Does an apple tree produce anything but apples, in spite of choices, chances and circumstances? It either produces apples or it does not exist.

Luckily, humans are not trees, so where choices, chances and circumstances are unfavourable, we can move. Move to where you can flourish.

There is no excuse to produce who you are not.

What fruits do we see in the world?
“The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.” – Galatians 5:19-21

As a Christian, what are your fruits?
“But the fruit of the Spirit is Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, Self-control. Against such things there is no law.” – Galatians 5:22-23

You will be known by your fruit.
