Acts 4:18-21
So they called them and charged them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus.
But Peter and John answered them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, you must judge; for we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard.”
And when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way to punish them, because of the people; for all men praised God for what had happened.
Homily:
“We cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard.”
2 powerful filters that dictate what we profess – sight and sound.
What do you see and what do you listen to?
Who do you see and who do you listen to?
How can we say we are Christians if all we see and hear excludes Jesus Christ?
As your interest grows in any undertaking, you consciously seek to see and hear more of that undertaking.
Same goes with our relationship with God. We must consciously surround ourselves with sights and sounds that offer revelation of His word.
