John 12:44-46
And Jesus cried out and said, “He who believes in me, believes not in me but in him who sent me.
And he who sees me sees him who sent me.
I have come as light into the world, that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness.”
Homily:
Every light has its source. You cannot seek the light and ignore its source. The light and its source are one.
This gospel is required to ensure that we do not separate the Son from the Father. We cannot honor one and ignore the other. As we honor one, we honor the other.
