Important visitors

We spend so much time trying to improve our space for “important” visitors. People that spend an infinitessimal amount of time in our space. People that have alternatives to our space.

We do this because we believe these “important” visitors have magnitude and can dictate direction. So we spend disproportionate resources to look good and acceptable to them.

What if we treat those that reside with us daily as the “important ” people? What if we spend all our time trying to improve the space they live in? People that choose to spend most of their time in our space. People that ignore all other alternatives to be in our space.

Is it possible that the people who reside with us have a greater magnitude and stronger influence on our direction? What if we spent all our resources to make them feel happy being here? What if we treated those that accept us (without preconditions or posturing) with the greatest respect?

We have an alternative. Always remember that.

Second chances

Luke 1:26-33
In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.
And he came to her and said, “Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you!”
But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and considered in her mind what sort of greeting this might be.
And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.
And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus.
He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there will be no end.”

Homily:

Second chances are available daily, but they are rarely taken.

The annunciation by Archangel Gabriel to the Blessed Virgin Mary, was the beginning of the ultimate second chance for humankind.

“Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you!”

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God” – Ephesians 2:8

Accept His grace. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. The beginning and completion of our faith. It is available daily. It is available now.
