Anxiety

Matthew 6:31-34
Therefore do not be anxious, saying, `What shall we eat?’ or `What shall we drink?’ or `What shall we wear?’
For the Gentiles seek all these things; and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things shall be yours as well.
“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Let the day’s own trouble be sufficient for the day.

Homily:

Our worry about tomorrow is seldom aimed at our well being, but in how others will perceive our well being.

So we aim to look well off, even if it means trading off wellness.

When we put God first, we put our lives first. For He was the beginning of life. He is the source of our being.

“Then the LORD God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.” – Genesis 2:7

When you disconnect from the source, all effort comes to naught. And effort without result heightens anxiety.

Connect to the source. Put God first.
