Luke 9:51-56
When the days drew near for him to be received up, he set his face to go to Jerusalem.
And he sent messengers ahead of him, who went and entered a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him; but the people would not receive him, because his face was set toward Jerusalem.
And when his disciples James and John saw it, they said, “Lord, do you want us to bid fire come down from heaven and consume them?”
But he turned and rebuked them.
And they went on to another village.
Homily:
With great power comes great responsibility.
Those who restrain themselves from acting on impulse, understand the power within.
Those who act on impulse will ultimately learn that power, like money, leaves those that do not control it.
Those that have an abundance of anything, seldom talk about it. They just act when necessary.
Those that have limitations in anything, turn it into a mantra. Hoping, that the noise of their words will distract from the scarcity of their reality.
You have power. Restrain yourself.
