Self-control

2 Timothy 1:7
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity but a spirit of power and love and self-control.

Homily:

Self-control – The art of discipline in the use of God’s gifts.

The gifts of God are given or taken, in direct proportion to the amount of self-control an individual possesses.

“…From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.” – Luke 12:48

Tools

We are tools in the hands of others and others serve as tools to us.

Some people are cutlery for eating without soiling your hands, some are amusements parks for adrenaline rush, some are nets that keep out pests, some are nets that bring in fishes, some are hammers for nails, some are water for refreshment.

Each of us is a tool. The challenge is when there is a mismatch between the tool we think we are and the use we are put to by others.

What do others use you for?

Is it aligned to what you think you’re made for?

What will you do with the answers?
