My faith is my choice

Luke 12:8-12
“And I tell you, every one who acknowledges me before men, the Son of man also will acknowledge before the angels of God; but he who denies me before men will be denied before the angels of God.
And every one who speaks a word against the Son of man will be forgiven; but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.
And when they bring you before the synagogues and the rulers and the authorities, do not be anxious how or what you are to answer or what you are to say; for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.”

Homily:

My faith is my choice

First it chose me, then I chose it

Through highs and lows, tos and fros

His voice calms the storm of my emotions

And guides me through a world of VUCA

I have prioritised my faith above my doubts

And my words and works follow my priority

Ice cubes and tongs

One of the first things you learn when picking ice out of an ice bucket with a tong is this – “whatever size or shape of ice you can grab with the tong, add it to your cup, while trying to get the big ice cube you desire.” You might end up not getting the ice cube you desired and yet, have a cup full of ice.

The other option is to keep poking around, trying to get the ice cube you desire, keep drawing nothing and getting frustrated.

When what you desire is out of reach, use what is within reach right now.
