Nicknames

Most of the words we remember from what people say, was not said to be remembered.

They were words used for the moment, yet they grew into unshakable monuments of who they are.

Most of the nicknames people have, were unplanned. A chance occurrence just sticks and everyone in that time remembers you more by your alias, than by your name.

I have even met people that know the reason/meaning behind their nickname, yet know nothing about the reasons/meanings behind their birth names.

What you say, what you do and how you’re perceived matters.

The why is usually just pattern recognition.

This stands true for people, institutions and products.

Thank you, Lord

Psalm 124:2-8
If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us, then they would have swallowed us up alive, when their anger was kindled against us; then the flood would have swept us away, the torrent would have gone over us; then over us would have gone the raging waters.
Blessed be the LORD, who has not given us as prey to their teeth!
We have escaped as a bird from the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken, and we have escaped!
Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.

Homily:

There are many possibilities and probabilities in every moment of my life.

Some I know, most I don’t.

But all have conspired to bring me here. And because I’m still here, I am grateful.

Thank you, Lord.
