Opportunity

Opportunity grows on a base.

If you plant orange seeds, the opportunities that will come to you will have oranges as a base. Whether it is in oranges, orange juice, pulp, rind, branches, barks, stems or roots.

You will not plant oranges and get opportunities associated with a pineapple base.

For the opportunities you seek, plant and nurture the seeds of the base tree.

For financial health, plant savings.

For physical health, plant exercise.

For spiritual health, plant mindfulness.

The trick is understanding what the base tree of the opportunity you seek is. And then, being patient, while nurturing the seeds to grow.

Zacchae’us

Luke 19:1-10
He entered Jericho and was passing through.
And there was a man named Zacchae’us; he was a chief tax collector, and rich.
And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not, on account of the crowd, because he was small of stature.
So he ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, for he was to pass that way.
And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchae’us, make haste and come down; for I must stay at your house today.”
So he made haste and came down, and received him joyfully.
And when they saw it they all murmured, “He has gone in to be the guest of a man who is a sinner.”
And Zacchae’us stood and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have defrauded any one of anything, I restore it fourfold.”
And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, since he also is a son of Abraham.
For the Son of man came to seek and to save the lost.”

Homily:

I have struggled for some days to truly meditate on God’s word. Waking up in a hurry and barely posting passages without deep thought on its teachings, thereby taking no learnings.

I have on some days, almost not posted anything, because it started feeling like a broken record, replaying the same guiding words.

And I have lived less, the truths I have learnt, always thinking that I will make better choices next time.

Today, I run ahead and climb up a sycamore tree of my vulnerabilities and sins, calling out to Jesus Christ, to see me and come into my heart. I give my all to you, Lord. Help me live by your word and your promises, Amen.
