Wait time

People do not hate waiting. They hate waiting for you.

People do not mind waiting, it is the uncertainty of what they are waiting for that causes the itch.

Go to any good salon, and you will find people waiting, without complaint. They wait because they are certain about the quality of hairdo at the end.

Look at iPhone launches and the queues. They wait because they are certain about the quality of phone at the end.

What about orders for handmade luxury cars, boats or planes? The people that brag about valuing their time the most, wait, because they are certain about the quality of luxury that will be delivered.

Ask any brewer about the best brews, and you will see that wait time is a critical enabler, not a limiter.

Reducing wait time is a good strategy to improve the customer experience.

But please do not forget that it is the certainty of product alignment to expectation, that keeps you top of the mind and top on the list.

Lost sheep

Luke 15:1-10
Now the tax collectors and sinners were all drawing near to hear him.
And the Pharisees and the scribes murmured, saying, “This man receives sinners and eats with them.”
So he told them this parable: “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost, until he finds it?
And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, `Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost.’
Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
“Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp and sweep the house and seek diligently until she finds it?
And when she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, `Rejoice with me, for I have found the coin which I had lost.’
Just so, I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

Homily:

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” – Romans 3:23

An understanding of this verse, will lead to the realisation, that in the above bible passage, the lost sheep or lost coin, is you.

Just like no searching can start, until there is a realisation of loss, no repentance can start, until there is a realisation of sinfulness.

Even though we have all sinned, the door of reconciliation is always open, because it brings God and heaven, joy.
