Commitment

Commitment is a 0 or 1 game.

No cheat days, no leave, no breaks.

You cannot be committed to anything 99% of the time. In fact, if you’re “committed” 99% of the time, it usually means it is the 1% you’re committed to and can’t do without, even with an overwhelming 99% availability of the alternative.

When you commit, commit. See it through.

And if you do not think your commitment is going to endure, then do not commit, call it testing.

There is nothing wrong with testing. It is supposed to test your limits. Depending on outcomes from testing, you can choose to abandon or commit. Some of the best commitments follow testing.

If you choose to commit to anything or anyone, do not go in with the mindset of testing. That should have already been done before committing.

The harvest

Matthew 9:37-38
Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

Homily:

There is a lot of good to harvest in the world, but the people for this harvest are few.

Before the good fruits start to fall and rot or birds start picking on them, pray that your heart accepts, your head sees and that your hands are a willing medium, for the harvest.
