Psalm 71:3-6, 16-17
Be thou to me a rock of refuge, a strong fortress, to save me, for thou art my rock and my fortress. Rescue me, O my God, from the hand of the wicked, from the grasp of the unjust and cruel man. For thou, O Lord, art my hope, my trust, O LORD, from my youth. Upon thee I have leaned from my birth; thou art he who took me from my mother’s womb. My praise is continually of thee.
With the mighty deeds of the Lord GOD I will come, I will praise thy righteousness, thine alone. O God, from my youth thou hast taught me, and I still proclaim thy wondrous deeds.
Homily:
The Psalmists knew how to use hymns in prayer. There was a deep connection with God, expressed in songs that reflected total submission to His will.
Not all psalms have been written.
We all have a psalm to write and/or sing. Our connection with God and experiences of His love, range from general to unique.
Write your psalm.
Sing your song.
Praise, Prayer or Petition.
Connect your tongue to your heart, and sing to Him.
