Who are you sharing with?

Who are you ashamed of showing all you are to?
Maybe you should show.

Who do you share only the best part of you with?
Maybe you should share the other side.

Who do you hide away from, when you stray off the path?
Maybe you should tell them the truth.

Most times, those that want the best for us, know less, than those that do not care what comes of us.

We share more with those seeking to distract themselves from their troubles, than with those seeking to help us.

Most times, we tarry in poor choices, because we deliberately hide it from those we know will care enough to stop us.

We share more with those that expect nothing more than we give.

What will happen if you told your parents where you are going?
What will happen if you told your spouse who you are talking to?

You might avoid an experience that is better learnt through advice.

Abide in Him

1 John 2:24-28
Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, then you will abide in the Son and in the Father.
And this is what he has promised us, eternal life.
I write this to you about those who would deceive you; but the anointing which you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that any one should teach you; as his anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie, just as it has taught you, abide in him. And now, little children, abide in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not shrink from him in shame at his coming.

Homily:

The first time man hid himself from God out of fear, was after the sin of disobedience.

“Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”
He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.”” – Genesis 3:8-10

The passage of today shares a central theme – “Abide in Him”.

In other words, obey Him. Obey His word, Answer His call, Follow him.

His word is available to you innately and in the bible. Pray for His grace, that you may grow in understanding and nurture His word in you, for it is already planted in your spirit.

“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” – Matthew 26:41
