Random thoughts on random walks through random places

What do you know, but wish you didn’t know?
That is your cage.

Have you ever accidentally bitten your tongue, while chewing a meal? Have you ever accidentally injured yourself with your fingernails, while scratching an itch?
We hurt ourselves, even when we do not intend to, especially during mindless pleasure.

Even a dog knows when to let go of a bone, especially a big bone. Great dogs turn such bones that cannot be cracked, to a toy that can be used for play.

A good place to develop a beginner’s mindset is at the gym. The exertion of yesterday does not play a role in what is required today. You must still sweat out this new day. That is why you are here.

When any significant life-threatening event occurs, the first casualty is truth.

To leave, we must first arrive.
To arrive, we must first leave.

Follow me

Mark 1:14-20
Now after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God, and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent, and believe in the gospel.” And passing along by the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew the brother of Simon casting a net in the sea; for they were fishermen. And Jesus said to them, “Follow me and I will make you become fishers of men.” And immediately they left their nets and followed him. And going on a little farther, he saw James the son of Zeb’edee and John his brother, who were in their boat mending the nets. And immediately he called them; and they left their father Zeb’edee in the boat with the hired servants, and followed him.

Homily:

It is instructive, how quickly the disciples obeyed His call, leaving the certainty of what they knew, for the uncertainty of a promise.

Jesus cautioned against hesitation in Luke 9:62 –

“Jesus replied, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.””

Delayed obedience is disobedience.
