Matthew 20:25-28
But Jesus called them to him and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great men exercise authority over them. It shall not be so among you; but whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your slave; even as the Son of man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Homily:
Leadership ignores titles, offices and seats.
Leadership takes measured steps, engages hands, sees opportunities, listens to each tongue and speaks true.
People serve what serves them.
God, money, sex, people, or the elements.
People always serve what serves them.
It might be irrational to you, but until what they serve no longer serves them, they will continue to serve and sacrifice at that altar.
If you pay attention, you will see that the same holds true in many other areas.
People trust who trusts them.
People follow who follows them.
When you understand this, you give what you want in abundance.
