My side of the bed

I have been conditioned to stay on my side of the bed. The side close to the door. Not for easy exit, but to defend the other side.

The other side is unused, cooler and plusher, but it is reserved for my lover.

I have chosen to stay on my side of the bed. Worn and familiar. Not the most comfortable, but my body has molded it to its desired shape.

The other side holds the fragrance of my lover, and on some nights, it helps me breathe.

I only sleep when I’m turned to the other side of the bed. Empty, yet full of memories. No one to share with, but lots of smiles to be harvested.

The other side though far, makes this house a home.

Rejected stone

Matthew 21:42
Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the scriptures: `The very stone which the builders rejected has become the head of the corner; this was the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes’?

Homily:

Everything created by God is designed to achieve His end. A light without shadows.

The part of you that is actively concealed, is supposed to serve you. Hiding it away only hurts you, because it was not designed to be in the dark.
