Thirst
John 4:13-14
Jesus said to her, “Every one who drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst; the water that I shall give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
Homily:
We thirst for deep connection.
Connection with God, Connection with self, connection with neighbours.
Our thirst can be quenched using many prescriptions, but they all lead us to an even greater thirst.
How do we truly quench our thirst?
“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life.”” – John 14:6
Not all
Not all who have an accent understand the language. To get an accent, you just have to dwell in the environment long enough.
Not all who can speak the language care about the people. To speak a language, you just have to see its utility.
Not all who have your name carry the history. Most names are given, not owned.
Not all who dress like you are heading to the same destination. A dress might be a signal of your tribe to you, but might just be what is available to others.
Not all you hold dear matters to all. Allow others decide for themselves.
