A path

We cannot love others, when we do not love ourselves. Mostly correct.

We treat ourselves poorly, so we treat others just as poorly as we treat ourselves.

It is hard to truly love self. We live and know deeply our inconsistencies and it is hard to love what is inconsistent.

But there is hope.

In our lives, there is someone, preferably living, that we love, wholly, in spite of their inconsistencies. Someone that we know we love and they know we love them.

In the ways we act towards such people, lies a personal instruction on how to love, because inconsistency also lives in them.

Through the ones we love, we can find a path to love self.

Love lives here

Psalms 46:1
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth should change, though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea.

Homily:

In volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous times as this, we must do what is within our circle of influence to stay safe.

For the things outside our circle of influence, we must rely on God, for He has stood true from the beginning of time and continues to stand true with or without time.

Fear has no place here, because Love lives here.
