Deep emotions

John 11:35
Jesus wept.

Homily:

Shortest verse. 2 words. Deep emotions.

Why he wept? Open to many interpretations.

One thing is sure – he did not weep for himself.

If he is moved to such deep emotions for us, think what he will do if we always stand right by him.

Calm

The mosquito making noise around your ear is not causing you immediate harm, but you are jolted to immediate reaction.

The mosquito quietly sucking your blood and acting as a vector for pathogens is very quiet, but is causing you immediate harm. It takes a calm consciousness to notice its sting and squash it. But the harm might have been done.

The child that is making noise in the corner is doing reversible damage. The one that has remained quiet is more likely to be causing irreversible damage.

Turbulent waters hold less dangers than calm waters, but we react better to turbulent waters and are more likely to be a prey to what lurks within calm waters.

While we are designed to react quickly to noise, we must pay more attention to the waters that seem calm.
