Commonality does not negate originality.
Sharing attributes with the whole does not negate individuality.

Individuals that significantly influence the whole, accentuate their commonality.
Individuals that are ostracized by the whole, accentuate their individuality.

Individuals that significantly influence the whole, protect their individuality.
Individuals that are swallowed up by the whole, protect their commonality.

Politics is a balancing act between accentuating commonality and protecting individuality.

John 14:27
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

Homily:

There is a peace which the world gives. A peace that is anxious, always awaiting the next disruption, as nothing is within the control of anyone.

There is a peace which God gives. A peace that is calm, deep in the knowledge that all that was, is and will come, are in God’s hands.

We instinctively know those that have found their peace in God.
