Sometimes the harm that comes to us might have been averted if it was more obvious to the people at the wheels that we were in harm’s way.

Cue 80 – Why Walking Helps Us Think
“Because we don’t have to devote much conscious effort to the act of walking, our attention is free to wander—to overlay the world before us with a parade of images from the mind’s theatre. This is precisely the kind of mental state that studies have linked to innovative ideas and strokes of insight.” – Ferris Jabr
Dance
You do realize everybody that pulls off great dance moves, practices for long stretches behind closed doors right.
You do realize that even within dance moves, there is a lot of improvisation right.
You do realize that the best dancers allow the beat to lead right.
You do realize that knowing when to go slow, when to stop and when to speed it up is dictated by those watching right.
You keep wondering when you will own the dance floor, while those you envy are using that time to practice.
Everyone can dance. Yes, I said it, everyone can dance. Not everyone wants to practice though. Because there are no cheers, claps, or praise during practice. Practice has no glamour. It is just a difficult, ugly and slow process that does not guarantee magic.
Until you start to enjoy practice behind closed doors, you cannot own any dance floor.

Desires
Matthew 11:28-30
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Homily:
There is no life free of burden. As long as you have desires, they come with their concomitant burdens.
Some are just disproportionately yoked, as their desires outstrip their needs.
A desire to obey God comes with its own burdens. Forsaking a lot of immediate pleasures for lasting satisfaction. Forsaken by friends and family for choices that seem selfish in the present, but selfless in time.
There is always tension in life, between our desires and the suffering they bring. It is wise to consciously choose your desires based on your preferred suffering.
There is a calmness in the presence of those who have chosen to align their desires to the Word. I prefer that calmness to the struggle involved within the alternatives.
