A day

Let us try something together.

A day without complaining.

Just one day. From start to end without a word of complaint.

Permit yourself to have any conversation, except one in which you complain.

Notice the people you will have to avoid, the people you will have to be quiet with, the places you will have to avoid, the places that will make you uncomfortable, the tension this activity will bring, the unease that will swell within.

We have been conditioned to complain. It is our way of dealing with the fact that most of what comes to us is out of our control.

Let us take back control of our narrative. Our words create our reality. Let us start with a day. A day without complaints. Then maybe we can build on it and see where it leads.

Life unending

Matthew 16:24-27
Then Jesus told his disciples, “If any man would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man, if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life? Or what shall a man give in return for his life? For the Son of man is to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay every man for what he has done.

Homily:

Imagine a world in which life is unending. Imagine the possibilities.

Now, imagine a world in which life is ending. Imagine the inadequacies.

One promotes calm and the long game.

The other promotes struggle and the short game.

When we choose Christ, we choose a life that is unending.
