Virtue signaling

You cheat in your relationship, but you draw the line when people cheat with married people. Ready to crucify them for not respecting the sanctity of marriage. When he who is without sin is asked to throw the first stone, instead of going home, you throw the stone that will forever judge you.

You beat up your girlfriend for any difference of opinion, but you draw the line when people insult your mother. Ready to fight in the market square with anyone that disrespects your mother. When he who is without sin is asked to throw the first stone, instead of going home, you throw the stone that will forever judge you.

You talk a good game and do the bare minimum at work, but you draw the line when people make mistakes while building the future. Ready to sack anyone that puts a dent in your perfect career story. When he who is without sin is asked to throw the first stone, instead of going home, you throw the stone that will forever judge you.

You inflate expenses which you claim from the company, but draw the line when a third party is seen drinking a beverage from the production line in a corner. Ready to bring down heaven because you hate stealing. When he who is without sin is asked to throw the first stone, instead of going home, you throw the stone that will forever judge you.

You complain about everything and everyone at any chance you get, but you draw the line when people gossip about you. Ready to show them who is the boss in this arena. When he who is without sin is asked to throw the first stone, instead of going home, you throw the stone that will forever judge you.

You spend more resources on outsiders than on family, but you draw the line when family stays distant in your time of need. Ready to label them the initiators of your downturn at the slightest instant. When he who is without sin is asked to throw the first stone, instead of going home, you throw the stone that will forever judge you.

Guardian Angels

Exodus 23:20-22
“Behold, I send an angel before you, to guard you on the way and to bring you to the place which I have prepared. Give heed to him and hearken to his voice, do not rebel against him, for he will not pardon your transgression; for my name is in him. “But if you hearken attentively to his voice and do all that I say, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries.

Homily:

On the memorial of the Holy Guardian Angels, I connect to the prayer that has stayed with me since my childhood – The “Angel of God” prayer.

Angel of God, My guardian dear,
To whom God’s love commits me here,
Ever this day (or night),
Be at my side,
To light and guard,
To rule and guide,
Amen.
