Take responsibility

There is a subtle difference between individuals that brings disproportionate results.

There are individuals that follow instructions, and there are those that take action.

Those that follow instructions usually have an associated lack of responsibility, after all, they only did as they were told. They expect the giver of instructions to take responsibility.

Those that take action usually have an associated ownership, after all, no one but them owns their hands. They know they must take responsibility.

Whether things go right or wrong, the one who takes responsibility is a leader. And leaders cannot be long hidden.

Taking responsibility is a super power.

He takes pleasure in you

Psalm 149:4
For the LORD takes pleasure in his people; he adorns the humble with victory.

Homily:

When you have a parent that takes pleasure in you, there is a reassurance in your being.

But sometimes, a parent’s favorite becomes haughty, and inadvertently makes a good thing go sour.

This is the reason for the immediate advice on humility, and its associated victory.

Humility is not about saying you are humble, or putting yourself down for everyone to have their way. It is about an openness to learn from each circumstance. An understanding that the answers you have now, can be improved.

God takes pleasure in us, we just need to learn from all He brings to our path.
