Plug-in

Success attracts plug-ins.

Each plug-in adds new features to the successful one.

Some enhance performance, most distract from performance. It is difficult to know which is which at the start, as all plug-ins are marketed as logical next steps.

A wise decision is always to reduce the number of plug-ins you allow in to a maximum of one at a time, and then you test value addition. If it enhances performance, no need to add on more plug-ins for a while. If it distracts from performance, unplug quickly, and reassess your criteria for choosing plug-ins.

We must always remember that plugins are there as an alternative feature to enhance function, not an absolute feature to replace function.

I know of one too many great artists whose plug-ins distracted from their craft. But for the brilliance in their craft, the plugins almost moved from being an optional feature to a permanent deleterious function.

I have also learnt that plugins are not as optional as might be assumed, and that the limiting features people add-on, are only accentuated in order of their greatness.

Pay attention to the plug-ins on your journey.

Watch and pray

Luke 21:34-36
“But take heed to yourselves lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and cares of this life, and that day come upon you suddenly like a snare; for it will come upon all who dwell upon the face of the whole earth. But watch at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that will take place, and to stand before the Son of man.”

Homily:

In your routine lies cues to where you are as an individual.

If any external substance helps you feel energized to face a new day, or feel calm enough to sleep at night, then it is wise to explore the source of your dissonance.

It is easier not to start a limiting behaviour than to stop it. When things get tough, ignore what needs to be marketed with colours. Close your eyes, see the many shades of grey, and pray.

Even without words, you can pray, and reconnect with what can neither be bought nor sold, yet is enduring.
