Today, I could finally breath a sigh of relief, following a long transatlantic journey by a loved one. Reading the news of the Indonesian plane that crashed just after take-off with 62 people on board yesterday, brought the reality of the risks in travel back into view.

Even with the best efforts around safety, failures occur. Those failures do not need to be caused by you, yet you can experience the full weight of the consequences.

For every safe journey to a destination, there are many alternate realities that were avoided.

I am thankful for the “good morning” I received today, after the “good bye and safe trip” I said 2 days ago.
