Commitment

Today, I had to drag myself through my writing, based on my commitment to 5 pages every weekend.

It was not inspirational, but I kept going.

Parts of it felt drab and parts of it brought some excitement, but there was no flow. Just one word after another.

Not all pages write themselves. Not all days break themselves.

I am thankful for commitment, and the discipline to follow through without anyone but myself holding me accountable. It provides the required activation energy to overcome inertia.

A tribute to Aunty Ann

I am your next breath
The one you need
The one you take from the wind
The one you do not notice
The one you cannot afford to miss

I am your next breath
The one that goes in
The one that calms everything
The one you quickly forget
The one that is the reason for your next

I am your next breath
The one that is rich
The one within reach
The one that is for you
The one that comes to you

I am your next breath
Remember me, but do not hold on to me
Remember me, but let me go to a place of peace
