Care

Today, I took out time to check in on some colleagues with ill-health.

Usually calls like this have a predictable pattern. The person picks up and you can tell they are not whole from their tone. Then as the discussion proceeds, they seem to get energised. And the conversation ends in gratitude.

People need care in their most vulnerable states – physically, mentally, socially, financially and spiritually.

Care energises. Judgment drains.

I am thankful for the opportunities to energise through care.

Accept, then reshape

A prelude to change is acceptance.

Not much can change in your life until you accept reality.

Following acceptance, you can reshape the narrative.

Sadly, we mostly embrace resistance. But resistance entrenches the status quo.

When you resist reality, you perpetuate it.

This is why people seek support systems.

You can hack it by doing it yourself – Accept, then reshape.
