Today, I got a call from an associate that was down with covid-19, but had now received a negative result. I was the first person he called.
His joy was infectious. No words were required, just cheer and laughter.
He always seemed so calm. His call today showed me that he held great storms within, behind an optimistic tone.
I called him twice every day throughout the experience. One day he said, “You call me even more than most of my family and friends. Thank you Sir.”
It made me reflect on family and friends that might feel I do not call enough.
When people go through difficult times, be there for them, even when they sound like they have it all together.
I am thankful for caregivers who go beyond the call of duty. The storms we face in moments of weakness, require steady hands to help us stand.

Speak your truth
You are not built to be a reflector of sound.
You are built to be a creator of sound.
Avoid echo chambers. They are confined spaces that make it difficult to breathe, let alone speak.
Speak your truth.
There is always space for your truth. If none has been created, create one. Such spaces support your growth. Go where you grow.
Speak with respect, but let your speech be direct.
Speak your truth, and you will live the moment.
Speak otherwise, and you will leave the moment.
