Today, I stumbled upon a commencement speech by Akio Toyoda at Babson’s Centennial.
So many gems were shared in a humorous, insightful and relatable way.
One that stood out for me was, “Being a student is the best job you will ever have.”
Every opportunity life presents is one in which we are to learn, even the opportunities in which we are teachers.
This sits well with Satya Nadella’s advice – “Don’t be a know-it-all; be a learn-it-all.”
I am thankful for the learning opportunities I am presented daily, and the courage to embrace them.

Cue 113 – Best Story Wins
Best Story Wins
“A truth that applies to many fields, which can frustrate some as much as it energizes others, is that the person who tells the most compelling story wins. Not who has the best idea, or the right answer. Just whoever tells a story that catches people’s attention and gets them to nod their heads.” – Morgan Housel
Smoke screen
My most popular tweet has been –
“It is almost impossible to fully capture the evil humankind is capable of.
The good too.”
It was a response to a tweet by @jaymonet, who said,
“I know for a fact slavery was 1000% more violent than any historical records ever documented.”
You learn quickly in life that the documented sequence of events only has some remains of the truth, not the truth. Truth is the first casualty of history.
Take any part of history and you will find alternative views to every event. You choose the side to believe depending on your conditioning.
The present is full of smoke screens; those who write about it, either end up being fooled by it or they justify it.
