Gratitude

Today, I remembered to say a prayer of gratitude after a major event.

Usually, I remember to pray before every major step of my life, but after the step, I am one of those that does not return to say thank you.

Something stopped me on my track, from just continuing my day. I do not know what it was, but I had to stop all I was doing and say a prayer of thanksgiving.

I breathed more easily just after it, and all of the ups and downs of the event paled in comparison to my smile.

I am thankful for gratitude. It fills you with joy, to the degree to which you give it.

Delayed gratification

Delayed gratification reveals the character of people.

People will reveal their true selves when you delay the gratification they feel is due to them.

Some will handle it gracefully, and remain committed to you.
Others will handle it violently, and actively try to undermine you.

The story of “The Goose that Laid the Golden Eggs” is played out daily.

Even when you give of yourself daily, people will be dissatisfied until you give yourself up.

They want to celebrate your life at the graveside, not while you walk.

Stop rushing to gratify the desires of others. Let delayed gratification help you separate those that really need help, from the entitled.
