Today, I received sad news on the passing of a Board member. He passed on in his sleep last night, peacefully.
We had a chat just 1 week ago, and he was lively and engaging.
He was one of those people that engages so deeply, it feels like you have known him forever. Conversations came easy to him.
It brought the fickle nature of life into perspective, again. May we continually make choices that bring joy to our being.
I am thankful for the exemplary life he lived, and the lasting peace he has found.

Shaping
Make an inventory of your circle.
I am not talking about your 360 degree organisational relationship, your alumni, your neighbours, your club, your family or your friends.
The circle I mean are the people you frequently engage. Pick the top 5. Who do you see? What are their values? Where are the heading? What do they create? What do they complain about?
Like it or not, they are slowly shaping you.
You have the power to decide who you frequently engage.
The Internet makes it easier. For example, on a daily basis, some of the people I frequently engage are Seth Godin, through his newsletters, and Paul Graham, through his twitter feed.
Be deliberate about who shapes you.
