Today, I got my usual “3-2-1 Thursday” Newsletter from James Clear. One idea from him stood out –
“The events of your past are fixed. The meaning of your past is not.
The influence of every experience in your life is determined by the meaning you assign to it.
Assign a more useful meaning to your past and it becomes easier to take a more useful action in the present.”
It is amazing how a thought that has plagued me for weeks is succinctly put into words by another.
I am thankful for kindred spirits that float by with soothing words.

Let it fall
Another sprain in the kitchen from trying to stop an object from falling.
Another lesson that it is better to let the object fall than try to be a super hero.
In almost all situations where I try to stop an object from falling, whether it is soap or cutlery, I have suffered needless sprains and sometimes injuries from the hasty movement I employ.
There is something to learn there about life too.
The urge to rescue what is falling ultimately leads to needless pain.
Many times, it is better to let it fall.
If it breaks, pick up the pieces and move on.
If it doesn’t break, pick it up and keep going.
