Colleagues

Today, I was part of the send-forth of a friend.

It was a bitter-sweet moment with lots of beautiful memories shared through teary-eyes.

We carry our journeys wherever we go, but our story comes into perspective when it is time to say goodbye.

I am thankful for colleagues that have become friends.

Questions

How are you?
I rarely pause to check before answering, “I’m great.”
If I pause, the answer can be much deeper, but most times, the question is not asked out of care for my wellbeing, but as a pleasantry.

Where are you?
This question almost always makes me pause.
Some thoughts typically flood in – “Why are you asking?” “Am I where I’m supposed to be?” “Can I trust you with my location?” “Are you currently watching me?”

How am I?
This question triggers self-reflection.
It is a question that silences the noise within.

Where am I?
This question triggers self-awareness.
It brings me into the present moment.

The questions I am asked are not as revelatory as the questions I ask myself.
