Wandering thoughts

Today, I had a thought which I would like to explore in the future.

“If we knew the exact date of our death beforehand, we would spend our whole lives trying to change it.”

Birthdays would have been death countdowns, not the current count up of life.

The not knowing might serve a purpose after all.

I am thankful for wandering thoughts that flirt with me now and then.

Uneventful moments

Several moments come together in statistically improbable ways, to change the course of an individual’s life.

From birth to death, the improbable is more likely.

To the untrained eye, it takes one moment to change the direction of an individual. In reality, the moments stack up over uneventful periods of time, until an unlikely unrelated moment arrives to tip the scale.

As no one knows which moment will tip the scale, I pay attention to the uneventful moments. For it is upon them that all else is built.
