Today, I had a chance encounter with Wole Soyinka. In my usual way when I get to meet famous people, I nodded at him in greeting and allowed him have his privacy.

It was difficult not to ask for a picture, but I never do, except my wife intercedes.

When I was in primary school I read an article on the struggle celebrities have with enjoying a regular day. Everyone feels entitled to their time and space. If they react in ways to help shield themselves, they are judged harshly. Since that day, I have respected the time and space of famous people I meet.

I always get a response to my nod in the most subtle – “I see you and I acknowledge you.”

I am thankful for famous people that sacrifice so much to be role models for people they do not even know.

Play

Pets teach us that words are not essential for love.

Play on the other hand is essential.

What is lacking in most relationships is not words, it’s play.

Play creates a safe space to be truly you. And the true you dwells in love.
