Dance

Today, I did a dance video to see if I still got it.

I am happy to announce that I still got it.

No new moves, but the old ones still get the job done.

The lady in the music video of Olamide’s “Rock” inspired me to do this. She was a delight to watch.

“Girl I just want make we rock
Girl I just want make we vibe
Girl I just…”

I am thankful for the joy dancing brings.

A Project of One’s Own

“Indeed, the mere expression “work/life” embodies a mistake: it assumes work and life are distinct. For those to whom the word “work” automatically implies the dutiful plodding kind, they are. But for the skaters, the relationship between work and life would be better represented by a dash than a slash. I wouldn’t want to work on anything I didn’t want to take over my life.” – Paul Graham

Limitless limits

The human spirit has no limits.
The human body has its limits.

The body ringfences the spirit with time.
The spirit breaks free in time.

They meet to negotiate coexistence at the soul.
They leave the scars of disagreement on the soul.

Freedom grows on scars.
Pleasure plants the scars.

The soul finds freedom in the spirit.
The soul finds pleasure in the body.

Freedom requires sacrifice.
Pleasure requires gratification.

Sacrifice is the spirit’s essence.
Gratification is the body’s essence.

Balance in the soul is not equal parts sacrifice and gratification.
Balance is tilted more towards sacrifice than gratification.

Limitless limits are nourished through balance.
