Uninstall

Today, I did a social media detox.

I uninstalled the usual suspects from my phone.

Typically, you detox byproducts of what you indulge in. But with social media, the byproduct is the product.

I will be back some day, but I need to listen to myself more than the idle chatter of crowds now.

I am thankful for the uninstall button.

Clickbait

Everyone, but you, understands the value of your attention.

People spend billions on infrastructure to get your attention for a second. They understand that a click is never just a click. A dot is never just a dot. A view is never just a view. It is the start of infinity. And they want infinity.

All design is aimed at removing every friction to get your attention, and ultimately own your attention.

Look at your daily routine.
How much of it is intentional and how much is conditioned?

Ever wondered what would happen if you priced your attention as much as organisations do?
